INTENT: India marks January 26 as its Republic Day every year. This year, the country celebrated its 74th Republic Day. In 1950 The Indian Constitution came into effect, and India became a sovereign state, declaring it a republic.
EXPERIENCE: Every year Republic Day is celebrated in India on 26th January with zeal and enthusiasm. The patriotic fervor warmed up the pleasant morning with all the staff members dressed in Indian Flag colours.
Patriotic songs were played during the morning radio assembly and the significance of the day was shared with the children.
Teachers educated children to take pride in the rich cultural past of the country and how children can become good global citizens by showing responsibilities towards the country. Art is an expression; students of PreKG to Grade 1 involved in various art activities using the tricolour of the Indian Flag. Children enjoyed colouring and other fun activities conducted in the class.
Students from PreKG to Grade 12 enthusiastically assembled on the sports field for the hoisting of the Indian flag. Students waved the Indian flag in pride. The Flag hoisting ceremony was then followed by the Indian national anthem.
INSIGHT: Republic Day was celebrated by the students and staff of Credence High School with patriotic fervor. Children learnt to show respect to the country and the motherland.
