Schools unraveled
knowledge at the Credence UAE Quiz
Masters Tournament organized by Credence High School.
The quiz competition was held on Wednesday, 18
January 2017 at the school auditorium. Since the
inception of the Quiz in the year 2014, the Credence UAE
Quiz Masters Tournament has evolved unarguably as one of the biggest inter-school quiz
competitions in the country. This year the legacy was carried
forward and the competition attracted 25 teams from across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and
Sharjah - Delhi Private School (Dubai),
Rajagiri International School (Dubai), The Indian Academy (Dubai), Ambassador
School (Dubai), Sharjah Indian School (Sharjah - Boys), Sharjah Indian School
(Sharjah -Girls), Abu Dhabi Indian School (Abu Dhabi), Gulf Indian High School
(Dubai – Boys), Delhi Private School (Sharjah), Crescent English High School
(Dubai), New Indian Model School (Dubai), Dubai International Academy (Dubai),
Springdales School (Dubai), GEMS Our Own English High School (Sharjah – Boys),
The Sheffield Private School (Dubai), India International School (Sharjah), Al
Maaref Private School (Dubai), Al Sadiq Islamic English School (Dubai), Arab
Unity School (Girls – Dubai), Bilva Indian School (Dubai), GEMS Modern Academy
Dubai, Gulf Asian School (Sharjah), Gulf Indian High School (Girls- Dubai), The
Indian High School (Dubai).
The
quizzing methodology was one that provoked the quizzers from thinking outside
the box. The theme was ‘the world since 2000’, this was completely a general
knowledge based quiz. The quiz covered fields of human and planetary activity -
earth and its environment, politics, sports, entertainment, art, music,
literature, science and technology.
Adittya Nath
Mubayi a well-known quizmaster from India conducted this competition. He is
the BBC mastermind semi-finalist, Research Head for Kaun Banega Crorepati and
Mastermind India. It was an enriching experience for all.
The students seized this opportunity to interact with Adittya Nath
Mubayi,
knowledge entrepreneur and quizmaster.
The Winning Trophy was
bagged by Our Own English High School (Sharjah – Boys); while the First Runner-Up
Trophy was claimed by the students of Abu Dhabi Indian School (Abu Dhabi) and the Second Runner-Up Trophy was won by The Indian
High School (Dubai). Winners received their
trophies from Mr. Abdulla Nalapad, Chairman of Credence High School and Mrs.
Deepika Thapar Singh, CEO – Principal, Credence High School. They congratulated
the participants for their excellent performance and also shared the belief of
the school that in consonance with academic pursuit’s para- academic activities
play a critical role in providing students with an intellectual platform for
ventilation of views, opinions and perspectives. Students of the
winning and runner-up teams were awarded individual trophies and certificates.
The quiz competition
was a grand success, this battle
of brains was a route to learning and revelation.
