“Weaving wings to the dreams of
little Credennians”
Intent: Two terms down at Credence High School, our
toddlers have all grown up and are dreaming big! And we wove wings to their
dreams through the extra ordinary show, the Annual Concert. Performing arts is
an important component of our curriculum and students of PreKG to Grade 1 moved in flair and took everyone by a storm when
they stepped on the land of different countries and picturized it’s culture
through music, and dance on the theme ‘HAWL
ALKHALIJ – TINY TOES GOING GLOBAL’ on Thursday, 6th December 2018..
A month long series of actions behind the scenes from theme planning –
scripting – choreography – music selection - practices sessions – costume
designing – decorations – prop making - movie making to rehearsals made this
grand event a huge success. The aim of this event was to inculcate love for
drama, music and dance.
Experience: The event commenced with welcoming the parents by
the staff members offering them dates. Up in the auditorium began the show with
an introductory note to welcome the audience, Chief Guest – Mr. Shekhar Iyer (Dy
Director Advertising, Khaleej Times) and the Special guests – Dr. John Brown (a
well-known educationist) and Ms. Leila by the activity coordinator and
exchanging pleasantries with the senior leaders; following which the young
Credennians welcomed the guests with beautiful plants and flowers. Any event is
incomplete without the school Principal, Ms. Deepika Thapar Singh ma’am’s
precious words of motivation, trailing that everyone was greeted by the soul,
the director of the grand event – Ms. Dhanalaxmi (Head PreKG to Grade1). Our
highly eloquent and expressive hosts for the day were the two students from
Grade 1, Noora and Amaryllis who took the stage with confidence and winged
everyone with them on an exciting musical journey around the world in their hot
air balloon. After which an array of extra ordinary performances showered on
the stage beginning with a welcome dance by the students of PreKG A and B; students
of KG1 A, B, C with their beautifully colour coded costumes and moving through
the land of India, UAE and Brazil while grooving to its cultural music;
children of KG2 A, B, C, D flaunting their moves and harmonizing on the music
of countries of Russia, Sri Lanka, South Africa and South Korea and finally the
amazing performers of Grade 1 A, B, C, D, E represented the countries of Spain,
China, Egypt, Philippines and Mexico in their flair. The grand finale song and
dance performance took everybody by a feet tapping surprise. The show ended
with the motivational and encouraging speech of our Chief Guest and the
curtains rolled down to a photo finish sight with everyone singing the national
anthems of UAE and India.
Insight: Each and every member of the school ensured the execution of the event
to be smooth and that made it flawless while the packed auditorium demonstrated
the involvement and excitement of the parents at CHS. The extraordinary
choreography by our dance teacher Ms. Sreedevi teamed with music by the music
teacher Mr. Siddharth and the grand decorations by the art teachers Ms. Rekha
and Mr. Deviprasad made it appear fantastic. A perfect example of teamwork was
portrayed by the PreKG to Grade 1 staff in training the children as well as the
staff members of Grade 2 to 9 and Admin to support the execution of the event. The
concert concluded to the rousing cheers and made it one of the memorable day of
2018 at CHS.
